AAI’s Newsletters Are Still Free

Updated: Apr 13

This picture just keeps getting better.

AAI’s weekly newsletter went out today. Here’s a look at what you missed if you’re not already subscribed:

  1. America’s Vanishing Economic Freedom: The 2012 Economic Freedom of the World report was released this week by the Cato Institute and Canada’s Fraser Institute, and it showed that the United States has plummeted to 18th place in the ranked list, trailing such countries as Estonia, Taiwan, and Qatar. Even such notorious welfare states as Finland and Denmark, not to mention Canada, have freer economies than we do. More from Michael Tanner at National Review.

  2. Obama’s Robbery of Medicare to Fund Obamacare in One Chart:  Democrats will find it difficult to refute this chart byHeritage Foundation research assistant Alyene Senger. It very clearly shows the $716 billion that Democrats swiped and delineates exactly from where in Medicare they stole it. This is as close to a police report of a home burglary as one will find in public policy, a graph is based on irrefutable data from the Congressional Budget Office. See the report by Deroy Murdock at National Review.

  3. The Fallacy of Redistribution: The history of the 20th century is full of examples of countries that set out to redistribute wealth and ended up redistributing poverty. The Communist nations were a classic example, but by no means the only example. Thomas Sowell explains at National Review.
