Debate is On

I don’t usually note these developments in the presidential race unless they have some kind of Arkansas touch, but I

commented on this in passing earlier in the day and wanted to follow up: John McCain says that he will debate Barack Obama in Oxford, Miss., tonight.

Was this the plan all along, and the whole spectacle of the last three days was just a massive head fake to insert some wild uncertainty into the proceedings and throw Obama off his game? Sure, why not, let’s go with that.
