Rep. Lance Reynolds has a hearing problem.
Well, the crackerjack team at the Arkansas News Bureau doesn’t rest: While you were out rooting through your neighbor’s garbage for expired prescription drugs, they were hunting down the latest on this global warming “minority report” hearing that I’ve been trying to keep track of all day.
And it’s a good thing, because the story changes hourly.
Latest status: It’s back on, eagle-eyed reporter John Lyon tells us. Or at least the minority report dissenters will now be allowed to present their case, after a fashion, at an “unofficial meeting,” which is apparently less formal than a “committee hearing” but more formal than “running into someone in the hallway at the Capitol and chatting for a second.”
So, to summarize:
Some dissenters to the Arkansas Governors Fraud Commission on Global Warming (ARGOCOGLOWARM) were to provide a “minority report” detailing their objections to the ARGOCOGLOWARM’s controversial final report. This was scheduled to take place on Wednesday before the Joint Energy Committee.
But then Democratic Chairman Rep. Lance Reynolds said the House members would “skip” the hearing. Boo!
But then he said, just kidding! It’s being delayed till next week! Hooray!
But now they’re holding the hearing again, but this time it’s going to be an “unofficial meeting” to allow the dissenters to offer their viewpoints. Uhhhhh….hooray? I’m not sure anymore.
If you can make heads or tails of this buffoonery, or conceive of a politically intelligent rationale for this bumbling spectacle, congratulations. You are now the smartest person in the state of Arkansas.
