He's been reading up on Obamacare. Oh, the pain.

Listen, we’ve written a lot here (see “Related Posts” below) about the state-level implementation of the Affordable Care Act/Obamacare, in all its misshapen, ill-considered, shoddily-drafted glory. “Glory” is not the word I was looking for there, but never mind.

This week we mark the two-year anniversary of the enactment of this policy-shaped turd, and the excitement (?) is heightened by the fact that the U.S. Supreme Court is preparing to hear the constitutional challenge to the law next week.

It could be that you’re the rare Obamacare enthusiast, and you go around saying things like, “Everyone’s going to get to keep their insurance coverage if they like it and anyway it’s going to reduce health care costs and it’s going to pay for itself and the more people learn about this law the more they’ll like it, so shut up.” If that’s what you believe, then the good folks at Politico have bad news for you.

To wit, a nice piece from Politico’s David Nather detailing “4 hard truths of health care reform,” which goes a little something like this:

1) Some people won’t get to keep the coverage they like. 2) Costs aren’t going to go down. 3) It’s just a guess that the law can pay for itself. 4) “The more they know, the more they’ll like it” isn’t happening.

Read Nather’s article in its entirety for a full picture of just how you were snookered by the salesmanship around this bill. What? The facts about the health care reform package don’t conform to the blatant fraud carefully shaded spin that was deployed to sell the bill? You may color me shocked.
